Opalized Fluorite
Tiffany Stone
A variety of Fluorite
What is Opalized Fluorite?
Opalized Fluorite is a rock predominantly composed of fluorite complemented by opal, calcite, dolomite, quartz, chalcedony, and other minerals. The most prized variety, Tiffany Stone, is a rare purple, blue, and white gem mined exclusively at the Brush Wellman beryllium mine in Spor Mountain, western Utah. In recent times, there has been a significant influx of less expensive materials from China and Turkey into the market, frequently leading to confusion and misidentification with Tiffany Stone.
