What is Nelenite?
Nelenite is a rare manganese iron phyllosilicate arsenate mineral found in Franklin Furnace, New Jersey. Its formula is (Mn,Fe)16As3Si12O36(OH)17 or (Mn,Fe)16(Si12O30)(OH)14[As3O6(OH)3]
Market Value Factors
Pricing varies for every rock and mineral, so use these universal factors to gauge Nelenite before comparing listings or appraisals.
Size & Weight
Larger, intact specimens usually command higher prices.
Rarity & Demand
Scarce material or popular varieties sell at a premium.
Condition & Finish
Chips, repairs, and heavy wear lower value; clean prep helps.
Treatment & Provenance
Untreated specimens with documented locality are prized.
