  • • Small amounts for personal use only

Permits & Licenses

  • • No permits for casual collecting on limited BLM lands
  • • Private land requires owner permission
  • • Commercial operations need permits

Restrictions

  • • Collecting 100% illegal in all Texas State Parks
  • • Prohibited in all National Parks
  • • No vertebrate fossil collecting on public lands
  • • Most public land unavailable for collecting
